Times are a changing

I'm back baby!!! Well sort of...I've decided after all the changes that have happend in our lives lately - namely a new baby girl joining our family and a move to Gayndah - that I'm going to re-launch SCATdesigns. It's going to be a slow process to get the online side the way I want it so please bare with me.

I've been sewing my little heart out again and it feels good and today I attentend my first country market.

My Market Stall Set Up

It went really well and it was wonderful to be in the sunshine after all the rain we had this week.
I'm planning my next market apperance on the 22nd of July at the Mega Market that is planned to take place at the Gayndah Hospital.

I hope to find some time over the next week to photograph and upload a few of the bits and pieces I've been working on and I might even have a little comp on Facebook.

Speaking of facebook I've had to change my facebook address so you can now find SCATdesigns here

Crafting To Do List

I have a list that seems like it's a mile long atm.

  • make 3 bunnies for Easter for 2 nieces and 1 nephew
  • make some messy cloths and peanut doll for friend who is due in May
  • make Sid basket for her "baby"
  • make some nappies and other clothes for "baby"

Which leads me to ask "why am I here posting???"

Off to sew - be back to share soon - hopefully

Playing Catch Up - part one

I really do miss sewing for SCATdesigns in the business sense but I am really enjoying having some time to expand on my sewing skills by trying some new patterns out for my girl.

When I think about it I really have sewen a lot for Sidney and not shared much of it at all. So I'm going to dedicate the next few posts to playing catch up so I can share what I have created for her.

Sid certainly does have a heap of clothes so I've stopped sewing summer clothes so I've started to sew some winter clothes for her.
The first on my list of things I wanted to sew was this amazing hoodie - This was the first thing I had ever sewn like this but it went together really easily and I am in love with the result....just hoping it gets cold enough this winter for her to get some wear out of it.

My neighbour is getting married in a few short weeks and Sidney is flower girl (i'm very excited about this only wish I could find shoes to match my dress) When she asked me if Sidney could be flower girl I of course instantly said yes but then she asked me to make the dress....I shuddered with fear - I had never sewn anything so complicted but was ready to take on the challenge - we scouted the pattern books at our local Spotlight (shuddering again cause I hate commercial patterns) and found a pattern that we both loved, bought the material and away I went.....below is the result - I even installed a zipper in the back.

I am so excited that it worked - it's far from perfect but it's pretty good for the first time I've ever sewed anything with like this ever. It fits her pretty well and is the perfect length.
I promise to post pics of her looking cute when I have them.
